Ecominga is an international cooperative project which aims to contribute to the ecodevelopment of peoples living in the Bolivian Amazon, particularly in the realm of environmental health with special attention given to water and food.

The project brings UQAM together with three universities located in the Bolivian Amazon:

Universidad Autónoma
«Gabriel René Moreno»

Universidad Autónoma
del Beni «José Ballivian»

Universidad Amazónica
de Pando

In the spirit of collaborative research, Ecominga’s four university teams are developing a training program for community leaders of Bolivia’s Amazonian region.

The Ecominga project is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) in the framework of the University Partnerships in Cooperation and Development (UPCD) Program and the Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC).
